All stone works and repairs are carried out using specialist products from Masons Mortar Ltd who have manufactured and supplied quality lime products for the care and conservation of historic buildings for over 30 years.
Restoring sandstone back to its original (order/state/glory), allowing stonework to breathe and in turn prolonging the life and look of the stone.
All types of stone cleaning can be carried out with sandstone being the area of expertise. We don’t use any chemicals to clean stonework. Cleaning and caring for your stonework will improve the look and longevity of the stone.
Where damage to sandstone is manageable, repairs will be carried out using stone repair compound and colour matched to the existing stonework. Where this type of repair is not possible, the stone will be removed and replaced with new or reclaimed stone.
We do letter and number carving and also carve moulds. Paint removal is carried out using specialised equipment. This allows the stonework to breathe and prevents dampness.
We do fine and coarse pointing using lime mortar. We carry out lime washing, harling and rendering work.
We will remove damaged chimneys and rebuild if desired.

Doff is a unique steam based stone cleaning system. It is unlike any other steam system and can achieve temperatures up to 150 degrees making it a superheated water system. We are able to vary the temperature and pressure depending on the type of paint or biological matter being removed. The system is designed and developed to effectively remove paint, biological matter and general dirt and grime without harm or shock to the substrate. This safe and effective technique is Conservation and Restoration approved by Stone Health.
